Good Environmental Choice Australia (GECA) is a Sydney based independent, not-for-profit organisation that promotes sustainable production and consumption. It operates Australia’s multi-sector ecolabelling program and is the only Australian member of the Global Ecolabelling Network. GECA's ecolabel and other sustainability products and services enable buyers to have confidence that their procurement choices will have a lower impact on the environment, and that products and services they buy will have been produced in accordance with ethical and sustainable standards.

The role:

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer’s primary role is to develop and execute the organisation’s strategy and drive significant growth to further increase GECA’s positive social and environmental impact.

This will be achieved by working towards the following high-level outcomes:

• Position GECA as an advocate for sustainability and a key solution to aid responsible consumption and ethical procurement
• Strengthen and expand stakeholder partnerships and relationships to deliver growth in revenue
• Be a strong ambassador for GECA and the movement for people and planet
• Build a collaborative and dynamic organisational culture

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will have overall responsibility for leading and developing a small and dedicated team and, supported by the General Manager, will oversee financial reporting and the implementation of effective operational systems. The CEO will be expected to play a leading role in key client relationships and major revenue-generating opportunities.

You will have a deep understanding of sustainability issues, particularly in relation to manufacturing, production and consumption, and excellent networks within the Australian business community. You will have the ambition and focus required to grow an organisation that is widely recognised for its transformative impact on sustainable production and consumption in Australia.
