About the Opportunity

GCPHN has an exciting opportunity for a Population Health Data Administration Officer to join their planning and stakeholder engagement team on the Gold Coast as part of a maximum term contract to 31 July 2022, with potential to extend depending on project and operational requirements. Ideally, this position would suit a public health graduate available to commence from late February 2022.

Reporting to the Senior Project Officer - Stakeholder Engagement and Planning, you will be responsible for administrative services to support the review of our Needs Assessment and healthcare planning through the sourcing of data, analysis and project support services.

Your day-to-day duties will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Review the Needs Assessment to identify any updated data and emerging data sources at a national, state and regional level.
  • Source and analyse existing and new data sets for inclusion into the Needs Assessment.
  • Support service mapping for the primary health care sector, in collaboration with other GCPHN staff to utilise their knowledge and operational experience to contribute to the process.
  • Analyse and interpret trends in demographic, health status, risk factors for health, disease and social indicators for the purpose of contributing to the identification of areas of need or priority.
  • Support implementation of needs assessment review project activities to ensure day-to-day operational needs are met.
  • Complete relevant templates and reporting requirements in relation to the Needs Assessment and Department of Health requirements.
  • Support stakeholder engagement activities, including collation and analysis of consultation and incorporation into the Needs Assessment.
  • Assist in the preparation of briefs, status reports, correspondence and reports as required.
  • Assist in maintaining project schedules, including tasks such as integrating and updating requirements, tracking deliverable dates and ensuring those responsible for these work areas are updated.
  • Professional level of communication and administration of project activities, supporting practical logistical tasks such as scheduling, organising meetings and other high level administrative requirements.

About You

GCPHN is seeking a candidate with tertiary qualifications in public health with demonstrated data and information analysis experience. You will possess the ability to plan, organise, set priorities, meet deadlines, and handle multiple tasks at once, with minimal supervision.

It is crucial that you have strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to interact effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders. You will demonstrate ability to extract health data from publicly available sources, with experience in analysing and synthesising data and information.

You also need to be highly competent in the use of information systems, database management, and other software applications (i.e. Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, SharePoint, Power BI or similar).
