The Men’s Family Violence Pathways Case Manager respond to calls and referrals (including police referrals) from or related to perpetrators of family violence.

The aim of the position is to ensure that male perpetrators are aware of the assistance that is available to them in relation to Family Violence Support and the Men’s Behaviour Change Program. This is guaranteed through the assessment of all police referrals received and the comprehensive support provided from initial contact, and will be the first point of contact for many of the referrals for the Men’s Behaviour Change Program and the Perpetrator Case Management Program and will set the expectation of the service.

The nature, intensity and duration of the service response is tailored to the client’s risks and needs and may include one or a combination of the following:

  • Information and advice (including to families, the community and other professionals)
  • Risk and need assessments
  • Development of safety plans
  • Coordination of crisis responses
  • Referral to appropriate services for further support.
