ORGANISATIONAL ENVIRONMENT

For over 60 years Fusion has been working to bring life and hope to people by bridging gaps in community funded programs.

We have been successful in this endeavour through the development of strong local community engagement, engaged philanthropic and fundraising support, and local social enterprise activities.

As a grass roots organisation, much of Fusion Australia achievement has been driven through exceptional long-standing volunteers and missionaries, including Company Secretary and governance functions. Fusion has just close to 495 staff, including 216 paid staff, 113 full time part time volunteers, and a further 164 casual volunteers.

JOB SUMMARY AND OBJECTIVES

The Position of Communications and Relationships Manager (National) has been created to support the office of the CEO to develop national oversight of Fusions 16 local centres communication and fundraising activities, and to develop and implement a national strategic communication and marketing plan.

Fusion Australia’s combined annual fundraising generates $700k per annum to support the organisations missional activities.

Most of Fusions fundraising activity occurs at the local centre level. Fusion’s national presence, messaging and identity needs elevation with a coordinated national communications and relationship strategic framework to guide this activity.

As a grass roots organisation much of Fusion Australia achievements have been driven through exceptional long-standing volunteers and missionaries. This work force is changing and communicating and engaging with volunteers into the future is a key strategic objective of the organisation.

The National Communications and Relationships Manager objectives are to:

  • Raise the profile of Fusion’s activities and programs nationally.
  • Increase funding opportunities and diversify income streams.
  • Develop a strategic approach to Fusion’s marketing, communications, fundraising, stakeholder engagement and relationship management.
  • Enable local centres within the organisation to promote programs, raise funds and engage stakeholders to support local Fusion activities.
  • The role includes research, and travel executed in line with the objectives and Fusion’s Mission, Vision and Values.

KEY RESULT AREAS

1. Fusions Brand and Communication

  • Manage Fusions branding, communications, media, and marketing (internal & external).

2. Donor & Philanthropic relationship management

  • Liaise with individual donors and philanthropists with a focus on generating funds through strong connection of interests in our work.

3. Income generation

  • Coordinate and lead fundraising campaigns, grants application and engagement events to support program activities.

4. Supervise and Support Staff

  • Provide direction and support to existing marketing and communications staff.

5. Safety, Quality and Continuous Improvement

  • Commitment to delivery of high-quality service through continuous improvement processes, appropriate risk management and ensuring safe organisation culture.
  • Participate in outcomes measurement, & evaluation processes.
  • Seek client feedback where appropriate.
  • Compliance with & contribution to WHS policies, to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Promptly record and report all incidents and complaints according to Fusion requirements.

6. Professional and Personal Development

  • Regular monthly management supervision and check in with the CEO.

7. Professional Conduct and Relationship Management

  • Work within Fusion’s shared values, philosophy, Policy &Procedures, Code of Conduct, including mandatory reporting requirements.
  • Work within the Fusion framework of early intervention, diversity, inclusion, and non-discrimination.
  • Support the induction, peer support and ongoing professional development of new workers, students and volunteers.
  • Undertake the duties of other staff during periods of leave.
