About the Role

Fusion Youth Services is seeking a motivated and community-minded Junior Youth Worker to support the delivery of our youth-focused early intervention programs across Blacktown and Penrith. This casual role is ideal for someone starting out in youth work, with a passion for supporting young people and building stronger communities.

You’ll work alongside experienced youth workers to help run group programs, mentoring sessions, outreach activities, and community events. This includes supporting program delivery in schools, assisting with workshops, and engaging with young people in a safe, respectful, and strengths-based way.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the delivery of youth programs in schools and community settings
  • Help set up and facilitate group activities and workshops
  • Build positive, respectful relationships with young people
  • Support young people to engage in programs and access support
  • Keep basic records of attendance and engagement
  • Work as part of a team to create safe, inclusive environments
  • Adhere to child safety and wellbeing policies

About You

  • Passionate about working with young people and making a difference
  • No formal qualification required – you may be working towards one in Youth Work, Community Services, or a related field
  • Friendly, reliable, and willing to learn
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Available during school hours and for occasional after-hours events
  • Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)

Desirable:

  • Lived experience or understanding of the challenges faced by young people in Western Sydney
  • Experience volunteering or participating in youth or community programs
  • Driver’s licence and access to a vehicle is a bonus
