We are looking for a new Centre Director for our beautifully designed Professor Lynn Corcoran Early Learning Centre: FROEBEL Parkville from late April/early May.

FROEBEL Parkville has 100 places for children from 6 months to 5 years of age and is located at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research (WEHI) in the Parkville biomedical precinct, predominantly offering early education and care services to the employees of WEHI and Melbourne Health. Our educational program focuses on immersive language learning (second language: German) as well as inquiry-based learning, e.g. by implementing the Little Scientists program. Frequent excursions within the local community are also an integral part of our curriculum.

The service has been rated 'Exceeding National Quality Standard' in 2019 and the team recently won the Little Scientists Early STEM Award as State Winner for Victoria. The centre achieved a Commendation in the 2020 Learning Environments Australasia - Victoria Chapter Awards in the category “New Construction / New Individual Facility Over $8m”.

This role is ideal for you if you have a minimum of 1 year experience in a Centre Director role of a large service and are highly motivated, knowledgeable, diligent, progressive, business-savvy. If you also have an engaging personality, an ownership mindset, can-do-spirit and a sense of delight about your work as a leader in early childhood education, then please introduce yourself to us and share your story!

Please note that German language skills are not required for this position as the centre's main language is English.
