About the role

The Executive Assistant to the CEO is a diverse, dynamic and busy role. The role works closely with the Manager Executive Services and has a primary focus to ensure the office of the CEO is well organised. This role supports the CEO with effective office coordination, diary management and travel planning. The role is responsible for the management of communication and correspondence coming in and out of the office, executive support to meetings and internal management committees, undertaking background research and preparing correspondence and briefings as required. Of specific importance is excellence in external and internal stakeholder relationship management with a diverse range of groups from the highest level of government to community representatives and organisations. The role also supports other members of the senior management group as required.

About you

To be successful in this role you will be highly experienced in the provision of executive support services with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. You will need to be adept at working in a confidential manner and have the ability to liaise with a diverse range of stakeholders including high level external parties. You must have outstanding organisation skills with a personal commitment and values alignment to the mission of Foundation House. Knowledge of digital platforms and systems is essential and an awareness of government structures and decision-making processes is desirable.

About the CEO

Paris Aristotle AO is the founding CEO and has over 30 years’ experience in the field of supporting refugees and asylum seekers. Paris has served on a wide range of state and federal government bodies advising on policy and multicultural affairs and is currently the Chair of Refugee and Migrant Services Advisory Council for the federal government.

In 2017, Paris was made an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) and named the 2017 Victorian Australian of the Year. In the same year, Paris was presented with an Honorary Doctorate from RMIT. His Doctor of Social Science Honoris Causa is in recognition of his passion for, and contribution to, specialist refugee services.

About Foundation House

The Victorian Foundation for Survivors of Torture Inc. (also known as Foundation House) provides services to advance the health, wellbeing and human rights of people of refugee backgrounds in Victoria who have experienced torture or other traumatic events in their country of origin or while fleeing those countries.

The organisation was established in Melbourne in 1987 and is non-denominational, politically neutral and non-aligned. Foundation House is a state-wide agency offering services in metropolitan, regional and rural areas, with head office based in Brunswick. We have approximately 200 staff with metropolitan regional offices in Dallas, Sunshine, Dandenong and Ringwood.

Salary and benefits

Remuneration is based on our Enterprise Agreement 2014 of $84,178 gross salary per annum, plus 17.5% leave loading and 9.5% superannuation. Additional benefits include salary packaging up to $18,550, a range of flexible working options, a highly supportive team environment, excellent training and development opportunities, and onsite parking.
