Fossil Free SA (FFSA) is a climate action group based in Adelaide. Our current #BreakAwayFromGas campaign aims at ending Santos’ sponsorship of the Tour Down Under international cycling race. Our friendly volunteer team works closely with 350.org Australia, which offers many training opportunities, as well as access to a global network of climate activists and campaigns aimed at ending the use of fossil fuels. If you’re looking for new directions in 2021, and have a good knowledge of climate change issues, we’d love to hear from you.

The two Co-Convenors work together to coordinate the campaigns and communications of the Adelaide group. To be successful in this role, you will have excellent organisational & interpersonal skills, with the ability to write clearly and concisely. A knowledge of digital platforms Slack, Action Network and Zoom is highly desirable. Time: 5 hours a week for at least 9 months

Responsibilities:

• Convene bi-monthly online meetings
• Liaise with 350 Australia & national network
• Develop campaign strategy with the group
• Delegate tasks and monitor actions and outcomes
• Write copy for emails, events and campaigns
• Use Action Network to create events, petitions, reports & emails
• Monitor ‘Slack’ internal organising platform
• Run welcome sessions for new members
