Job location

Forensicare is the statutory agency responsible for the provision of adult forensic mental health services across Victoria.

Completed in 2017, Ravenhall Correctional Centre is a medium-security men's prison located in Melbourne's west, providing world-class forensic mental health services in Victoria in a purpose-built state of the art facility developed to international best practice standards.

About the Role:

The Tambo Program comprises 10 beds and provides enhanced psychosocial rehabilitation and reintegration opportunities to address the needs of prisoners/patients with significant mental health issues in the months leading up to their release in a supported, Recovery-focused environment. The Community Integration Program (CIP) program provides assertive outreach to support patients through comprehensive pre-and post-release transition planning. This role provides high-level management and direction for the overall operation of the programs including planning, development of staffing, physical and financial resources, and overseeing the delivery of multi-disciplinary services. The Program Manager also provides supervision and line management to staff across the programs and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to improve and maintain clinical, educational and support activities.

Duties:

  • Provide high-level leadership, management, and direction for the operation of the Tambo and CIP programs
  • Drive and role model effective and collaborative relationships with patients and stakeholders
  • Develop and implement strategies to assist program development and growth

About You:

  • At least five years of clinical experience in mental health
  • Management and leadership experience desirable
  • Expertise in psychosocial rehabilitation and reintegration desirable

What you need:

Occupational Therapy

  • Approved degree in Occupational Therapy recognised for membership of Occupational Therapy Australia – Australian Association of Occupational Therapists.
  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulations Agency (AHPRA).
  • The successful candidate will be required to register their qualifications on eCredential.

Social Work

  • Approved degree in Social Work and eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
