About Forensicare:

Forensicare is the statutory agency responsible for the provision of adult forensic mental health services across Victoria.

Completed in 2017, the medium-security Ravenhall Correctional Centre is located in in Melbourne's west and provides world-class forensic mental health services to male prisoners in a purpose-built state of the art facility developed to international best practice standards.

The services and programs at Ballerrt Yeram-boo-ee FMH include:

• Outpatient program
• Acute and sub acute mental health units
• Specialist complex and challenging behaviour units
• Psychosocial rehabilitation units
• Community Integration Program

About the role:

The Ballerrt Yeram-boo-ee FMH Operations Manager will be responsible for the management and leadership of the forensic mental health services delivered by Forensicare at the Ravenhall Correctional Centre as well as providing leadership, advice, line supervision and mentoring to direct reports. The Operation’s Manager will provide high level advice to the Executive Director – Prison Operations, on prison mental health and emerging strategic, policy and operational issues to ensure the delivery of high quality, Recovery oriented, evidence-based services and programs.

Experience:

• A minimum of eight years’ experience working within mental health and preferably within prison services.
• Experience in leadership to drive change management, implement models of care and service design, in a complex health system.
• Demonstrated capacity to develop, work with, and influence, key stakeholders to accomplish strategic outcomes.
• Experience in financial management experience including understanding and operating with detailed budgets.

Mandatory qualifications & registrations:

Nursing

• Postgraduate qualification in Mental Health Nursing or equivalent
• Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulations Agency (AHPRA)
• The successful candidate will be required to register their qualifications on eCredential

Psychology

• Masters or Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from an APS accredited course or equivalent, OR Doctorate degree in Forensic Psychology from an APS accredited course or equivalent.
• Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulations Agency (AHPRA)
• The successful candidate will be required to register their qualifications on eCredential

Occupational Therapy

• Approved degree in Occupational Therapy recognised for membership of OT Australia – Australian Association of Occupational Therapists.
• Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulations Agency (AHPRA)
• The successful candidate will be required to register their qualifications on eCredential

Social Work

• Approved degree in Social Work and eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
