Lead Specialist Risk Manager

Forensicare
  • Full time, initial Fixed-Term 12 month contract
  • Based in Fairfield, free onsite parking
  • Salary: $126,245 plus super and salary packaging

Are you an experienced risk management expert looking to add value to a unique public sector health entity?

Forensicare is on a major transformation journey, and we need the expertise of a Lead Specialist Risk Manager to bring a new level of risk management and risk capability into our organisation.

This new role provides an exceptional senior “greenfields” opportunity for an energetic and engaged contributor to help the organisation materially uplift its current capability in managing the risk framework, risk systems and reporting. This will also encompass developing, implementing and overseeing new risk appetite and business continuity planning programs. A critical element of the role will be the requirement to partner with both senior (Board, Executive) and organisational stakeholders to ensure that risk is well understood and communicated as a positive enhancer of clinical and business performance.

In this role you will provide expert advice and coordination across the organisation to build and enhance the effectiveness of risk with our environments including Thomas Embling Hospital, Prison sites, and Community and Corporate divisions. You will directly support the Executive Director and work very closely with the Head of Governance to report risk matters to the Executive, Audit and Risk Committee and the Board to a very high standard.

Does this sound like you?

You have proven specialist knowledge of risk management principles, risk systems and reporting – extending to implementation and communication. A bonus experience (but not mandatory) will be your familiarity and experience with public sector governance (however this can be easily developed for the right candidate). You can demonstrate your ability to implement material change across multiple locations, overcome resistance and secure positive engagement for end users to achieve successful outcomes.

You will need to be comfortable with and enjoy working to progressively build risk knowledge and acceptance with the workforce at all levels. You will also need to be comfortable working in an organisation that is on a long term development journey.

You have a demonstrated ability to anticipate and address issues proactively. As a skilled decision maker and communicator, you will be able to present confidently and effectively to a range of senior decision-makers and you can demonstrate a strong commitment to our vision and values. You also have excellent analytical skills with the ability to assimilate and convey technical information and ideas in a clear, logical and concise manner.

A relevant tertiary or other qualification in risk would be very well regarded, as would your ancillary education and job experience. We would expect our successful candidate to be an engaged member of the governance and risk community more broadly, demonstrating contemporary connections into risk management developments and practices.
