ABOUT The Role

WEstjustice is seeking to employ a part-time or full-time Program Manager – Policy to join our Family Violence and Family Law team to focus on developing our portfolio of policy work in accordance with our strategic objectives within the team.

This exciting opportunity is available for an experienced policy worker and lawyer eager to work in a social justice environment within a friendly and committed team focused on assisting victim-survivors of family violence through intervention order hearings and family law casework.

The Program Manager - Policy will manage a portfolio of policy work within the Family Violence and Family Law team. They will work closely with the Program Manager – Legal to identify systemic issues arising from casework, conducting researching and identifying opportunities and a plan to create systemic change. Previous experience undertaking policy work within a strategic framework with a focus on systemic change will be highly regarded.

The Program Manager – Policy will also help develop the program through innovative ideas and partnerships to improve the legal as well as life outcomes of our clients, in line with the strategic direction of WEstjustice. They will have the ability to work collaboratively to build strong stakeholder relationships and partnerships across sectors, to assist our clients.

The successful candidate must hold an unrestricted practicing certificate and will need to have sufficient experience in Family Law in order to be eligible to become a VLA Family Law panel certifier, in order to apply for grants of aid for our clients. They will also assist the duty lawyer services as required.

The Program Manager will be based at our Footscray office but may be required to work from time to time across our other office locations at Werribee and Sunshine.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to focus the next step of their career on systemic policy work, whilst still maintaining legal practice experience in family violence legal work.

Remuneration

Salary range - $92,000 – $96,000 per annum pro rata (depending on experience), plus employer funded superannuation in accordance with Superannuation Guarantee (Administration) Act 1992 (Cth). In addition, generous salary packaging is available (including access to Accommodation and Meal Entertainment packaging).
