About the Role:

We are looking to recruit an experienced Logistics Manager to step in and play an integral role in shaping our logistics network through an exciting time of change and growth. Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, you will work in partnership with key stakeholders to facilitate retrieval storage, and distribution of food across the State.

This position is located at our Yarraville site. Some travel may be a requirement of this role.

Key responsibilities:

  • Managing and leading the transport and logistic team (Logistic Coordinators, Drivers, Labour hire and Volunteers).

  • Ensuring compliance of Occupational Health and Safety and a safe workplace for all.

  • Developing strategic plans and policies to improve warehousing operations as well as setting up new distribution hubs.

  • Logistics management; review and process improvement, cost analysis, scheduling and stakeholder relations.

  • Ongoing management and maintenance of our fleet.

About You:

Ideally our Logistics Manager will join the team with:

  • A shared passion for our vision of healthy food for all.

  • A commitment to Foodbank Victoria’s values of empowerment, accountability, integrity and respect.

  • A degree level qualification in Supply Chain Management, or Logistics and Supply Chain Principles;

  • Or the equivalent experience of 5 years or more in a similar role.

  • Proven food industry experience within a warehouse environment in logistics or transport.

  • Commercial acumen and an understanding of business drivers and the market.

  • Confident team leadership and people management - the ability to lead by example.

  • Strong stakeholder management with the ability to build positive relationships easily.

  • High-level organisational and time management skills.

  • The ability to problem solve.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and ERP software.
