The position

The Financial Counsellor role is a Full Time, Fixed Term Contract position based at Frankston and provides Family Life’s integrated, holistic, trauma-informed, evidence-based counselling and support and referrals to separated families in need of financial support. The role is responsible for providing independent, impartial financial advice to clients accessing the Family Relationship Centre (FRC).

A day in the life of this position includes:

  • Providing financial counselling, referrals, case coordination services to families.
  • Conducting professional intake and assessments for children and families.
  • Assessing client’s financial situation, providing information and support.
  • Facilitating group sessions for FRC clients.
  • Maintaining professional documentation and administrative systems.
