SNAICC – National Voice for our Children, has successfully supported Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children since its formal establishment in 1981. As the national peak body, SNAICC works for the fulfilment of the rights, needs and aspirations of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children. SNAICC exists to see all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children thrive - growing up in nurturing environments, with loving and supporting families, adequate food and housing, enriched with their culture – to live their dreams.

Reporting to the SNAICC Chair, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible for the strategic leadership and stewardship of the organisation. As the collective voice for SNAICC members, the CEO enhances and develops the exceptional reputation of the organisation, embedding its position as a trusted and informed peak body. Building the capability and capacity of the sector, fostering partnerships, and leading on impactful projects, this position will be key to improving service delivery to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island children. Driving systemic change, the CEO will lead strategic advocacy that is outcomes orientated and evidence based - reaching beyond western frameworks, to capture the wisdom of indigenous cultural knowledge and experience.

With exceptional strategic and leadership skills, and a demonstrated commitment to social justice for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, you will be experienced at operating at a very senior level. With outstanding advocacy experience, you will have the ability to drive a transformational policy reform agenda, and bring the intellect, creativity and judgement to operate in a complex membership-based environment. Prior experience of reporting to a Board will be beneficial and it is essential that you have an excellent track record of business and people management. Commercial nous and the ability to enhance the long-term sustainability of an organisation is essential.
