The First Peoples’ Assembly of Victoria (the Assembly) is the voice of Aboriginal people in Victoria in the next stage of the Treaty process. It is made up of Victorian Traditional Owners, elected by Aboriginal communities, for Aboriginal communities, to advance our rights, interests and benefits.
Our mandate is to work with the State to establish Treaty processes that recognise our sovereignty as the First Peoples of Victoria, support self-determination, and realise our human rights, to make Victoria stronger for everyone.

Lead the preparation of the Negotiation Team and support the Assembly Co-Chairs and Committee Chairpersons in their leadership of negotiations so that they can adequately represent the Assembly in discussions with the State and ensure that the Assembly acts fairly and in good faith as a treaty partner.
You will integrate policy and research into the Assembly’s negotiation strategy. The position will be supported by a highly skilled, multi-disciplinary team with expertise in the areas of legal, negotiation, policy analysis and research.
You will develop and maintain collaborative working relationships across the Aboriginal Community and other external stakeholders to broker optimal, mutually beneficial, good faith solutions to challenges as they arise in negotiations with the State.
