At Fighting Chance, we work to identify the challenges, hurdles and barriers faced by people with disability in their everyday lives and then design and build sustainable social enterprise businesses to bridge these gaps.

Since being founded in 2011, Fighting Chance has gone on to create three social enterprises: Avenue and Jigsaw, along with an accommodation business. We have multiple locations over Sydney along with a presence in Brisbane, Melbourne and Adelaide.

About you

Do you have proven experience in developing, planning, coordinating, delivering and evaluating learning?

Are you comfortable working in a collaborative, fast paced, hands-on environment?

Are you an exceptional communicator with strong presentation skills and a drive to develop an unbeatable workforce?

Are you organised and able to plan, schedule and coordinate training events and related logistics while remaining agile and flexible in the face of changing organisational priorities?

About the role

As the Training & Development Lead, you will work collaboratively with the People & Culture Team and other key stakeholders across all our enterprises to build capability within our workforce now and into the future. This is a busy and varied role responsible for the development, implementation and tracking of the programs within our training calendar.

You will have a broad remit which encompasses compliance training, induction, professional development, in-house training as well as management of the eLearning platform.

The key areas of accountability include:

  • Ongoing training needs analysis with development of appropriate and relevant training solutions, resources and procedures
  • Development and coordination of an organisational training calendar
  • Coordination and roll out of training programs and processes across the organisation
  • Design and development of learning modules for the eLearning platform
  • Design and delivery internal training programs
  • Continuous improvement of training & development activities within the organisation
  • Development and maintenance of external training provider relationships
  • Input into the strategy and budget
  • Track and evaluate learning outcomes for both employees and the organisation

You will have:

  • A relevant qualification and/or 2+ years recent experience in a training/development coordinator position
  • Experience in designing & developing both face to face and e-learning courses
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and ongoing maintenance of LMS/Information Management systems
  • Strong planning and communication skills with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Understanding of (and/or experience with) NDIS and working with people with disability is desirable.

  • Possess the right to work in Australia
  • Possess (or acquire) a NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check
  • Travel domestically on occasion, and travel within Sydney between Hubs
