About the role:

The key purpose of a Local Area Coordinator, Quality (LAC, Quality) is to empower people with disability, their families, and carers to build, pursue and fulfil their goals and aspirations and exercise choice and control while engaging with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

The LAC, Quality will ensure that participants and non-participants of the NDIS can access support outside of the Scheme by working collaboratively with local communities and mainstream services to raise awareness and become more inclusive of the needs of people with disability.

The LAC, Quality will accomplish this purpose via quality activities such as audits, surveys, feedback, Subject Matter Expert support as well as planning and implementations.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular audits of plans, plan implementations, support connection outcomes and staff reporting obligations providing regular comprehensive reports with audit findings to LAC Leadership
  • Aid the Service Area Manager to ensure the Issues Log and reoccurring report formats are up to date.
  • Coordinate all local survey activities under the direction of the National Program Manager, Local Area Coordination
  • Ensure excellent customer experience is provided by all staff to create a lasting positive impression
  • Work closely with the Manager Capacity Building and Engagement and the Service Area Manager to ensure all local community capacity building initiatives are implemented and service outcomes and KPIs are met

About you:

  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of the disability sector
  • In depth knowledge of all NDIA legislation, Grant Conditions and Feros Care policies and procedures
  • Demonstrated resource management skills with a high-level understanding of business viability needs
  • Ability to read reports, interpret data, categorise risk, develop and implement sustainable corrective actions
  • Ability to think and act at a strategic level and successfully drive and implement change
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills e.g. negotiation skills; facilitation and presentation skills; and preparing reports, presentations, and plans
  • High-level computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office programs particularly, Outlook, Word and Excel, and the ability to problem-solve and address inevitable system interruptions to ensure business continuity
  • Ability to travel interstate and stay away from home at least two nights every month if necessary
