FECCA is the national peak body representing and promoting access and equity for culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities in Australia. FECCA’s national office, located in Canberra, is staffed by a small and professional team of policy officers. FECCA is responsible for a range of activities working with the Australian Government and its agencies as well as not-for-profit and private sectors.
FECCA’s work focuses on all aspects of Australia’s multiculturalism and covers a wide range of subject matter, including developing and advocating policies in many areas such as ageing, employment, immigration, access and equity, and health. Specific target groups include older people, women, youth and children, communities living in regional and rural areas, new and emerging communities, and people with disability.
Reporting directly to the CEO, FECCA’s Director of Policy and Advocacy will be responsible for leading the policy and projects team to deliver high quality and influential outputs. Tasks and responsibilities will include: lead social policy and advocacy; high level and knowledgeable advice to the CEO on emerging policy and advocacy issues; lead, manage, support, and develop the team; manage project budgets; draft further grant proposals and suggest funding and partnership opportunities; maintain and develop relationships; represent FECCA on external committees and meetings.
