You’re a lawyer who is passionate about social justice and systemic change. You understand how the law and legal system can impact social disadvantage and inequality and you thrive on building the solutions and strategy for change.
You will use your strong stakeholder engagement to collaborate closely within the Federation team and with the membership, developing sector and legal policy, supporting policy implementation, and encouraging the development of best practice service delivery models that positively impact communities.
With experience ideally across the practice areas of our members - civil, criminal, family law, and family violence - you will help us to ensure that our priority legal and societal issues are on the policy and political agenda from development through to implementation and service design.
The Federation is the peak body for Victoria’s Community Legal Centres (CLCs). Our members are at the forefront of helping those facing economic, cultural or social disadvantage and whose life circumstances are severely affected by their legal problem.
For over 40 years CLCs have been the heart of a powerful movement for social change, reshaping how people access justice, creating stronger more equitable laws, and more accountable government and democracy.
As their peak body, we work with and support CLCs to fight for a fairer, more just community.
You will collaborate with colleagues and engage the membership to develop sector and legal policy and advise how best to influence, affect and implement the change we want to see, from policy development through to policy implementation.
You will contribute to research and evidence building across the sector and translate this into practice – working with and supporting members to ensure that service design is evidence-informed and person-centred, and building a strong evidence-base of legal need.
You will work with the membership to understand good practice and identify gaps or opportunities for policy or service development, delivery and practice.
You will work closely with key partners, including community organisations and legal assistance partners, recognising collaboration is key to our success.
The salary offered is $90,000 per annum (pro-rata for part-time), plus annual leave loading and superannuation. The Federation offers a generous FBT salary packaging program (up to $18,550 pa of your salary tax free).
