• Contract: Full time for 17 months.
• Salary: $58,380 - $63,010 per annum, plus superannuation.

The Federal Court of Australia is globally recognised as an exemplar of judicial development with an uncompromising commitment to the quality of its services. The Court has close relationships with judges and courts around the world, particularly across Asia and the Pacific. Since its establishment in 1977 the Court has played a significant role in the provision of assistance to over 40 countries. Its strong collaborative links and unparalleled access to networks and individuals around the world provide invaluable resources in the delivery of high quality professional development and capacity building support to partner judiciaries in both bilateral and multilateral contexts. Subject to funding approval, the Court seeks a Project Officer to assist with the organisation and implementation of the Court’s international development assistance programs, particularly the Pacific Judicial Strengthening Initiative (PJSI).

Major activities include:

1. Organising and implementing (remotely and in-country) the Courts’ international development assistance programs, particularly the PJSI;
2. Project administration, including coordinating, tracking, and organising all aspects of international logistics, drafting and compiling project materials, and reviewing and contributing to activity and Initiative reporting;
3. Budget and activity cost tracking, including financial administration and timely acquittal of all activity expenditure;
4. Effective communication working cross-culturally;
5. Working collaboratively with other team members across the International Programs Unit to support the Unit’s administration, including management of volunteers; and
6. Any other tasks required to support the activities and projects of the International Programs Unit.

Tertiary qualification in international development, project management or a related field; or at least experience working within the international development sector in a similar project support role.
