FareShare rescues food that would otherwise go to waste and cooks it into nutritious meals for people in crisis. We run Australia's largest charity kitchens and our chefs oversee an army of volunteers to cook 30,000 meals every week. These meals are provided free of charge to over 400 charities including homeless shelters, soup vans, women’s refuges, disadvantaged schools and community food banks.

A position is opening at our Abbotsford warehouse and we are searching for an experienced, confident individual with strong communication and team work skills.

YOUR DAY WILL TYPICALLY INCLUDE:

• Managing the flow of incoming and outgoing food from the warehouse
• Managing inventory and recording via our logistics app
• Leading, supervising and training volunteers (warehouse and drivers)
• Unloading vans and vehicles (manually and by forklift)
• Liaising with charities and food donors
• Assisting the Logistics Manager to coordinate our fleet of vehicles and driver

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA:

• Experience working in a warehouse environment
• Current drivers license
• Current fork lift license
• Excellent verbal and communication skills
• Highly organised
• Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
• Enthusiasm for food rescue
• Medium - high level of physical fitness needed to meet the demands of working alongside a high volume kitchen
• Must be able to obtain a Working With Children Check (employee status)

HIGHLY REGARDED:

• Experience maintaining a fleet of working vehicles
• Experience training others in the workplace
• Truck license
• Experience with logistics software and tracking applications

• Knowledge of food safety regulations
• Formal OH&S qualifications
• Experience working with people from diverse backgrounds and skill sets (especially volunteers)

The position is full time and requires some flexibility. Ordinarily you will be required to work Monday-Friday, however in some circumstances you may be required to work weekends and public holidays. Start and finish times may vary and will be decided upon consultation with your supervisor.
