Fairhaven is a community leader in the provision of services for people living with disability. We offer community participation, day programs, employment opportunities, accommodation and living support, as well as a retail precinct. About the role

Fairhaven Services Ltd is seeking expressions of interest from community members with the experience, knowledge, passion and commitment to serve as an independent voluntary Director on its skill-based Board.

Our Board members are valued Business and Community Leaders who provide governance to the organisation, represent Fairhaven Services Ltd to the community, and accept the ultimate legal responsibility for Fairhaven Services Limited and its work.

The position is voluntary and requires a commitment to attend monthly Board meetings. The primary objective of our directors is to provide visionary strategic leadership and exceptional governance that underpins high quality and sustainable services for our clients and their carers.

Skills and experience

Expressions are welcome for potential volunteer directors ideally with experience in one or more of the following domains:

  • Business and governance,
  • Service delivery and operations.
  • Human resources/Industrial relations
  • Fundraising and marketing
  • Clinical support for residential clients
  • National Disability Insurance Scheme
  • Business Systems implementation

An understanding of the NFP, Aged Care and/or Community sector (ideally);

Ability to work collaboratively with other Directors while maintaining independent thought and preparedness to challenge others’ thinking;

Involvement in Board subcommittee and take responsibility in the areas of expertise when needed.

Contribute in setting and driving the strategic direction of the organisation
