At NSW Trustee & Guardian, we protect, promote and support the rights, dignity, choices and wishes of our customers. Whether we are writing a Will, acting as an executor, attorney, trustee, guardian, or financial manager, we are here for critical moments in our customers’ lives. Join our dedicated NSW Government agency and make a difference in the lives of over 47,000 people each year.
The Public Guardian can be appointed by a court or tribunal to make health and lifestyle decisions for people who are unable to on their own, or with support. These include decisions such as where a person might live, their medical and dental treatment, health care, and other services. It also provides information and support to private and enduring guardians, service providers and the wider community. Practice and Strategy teams provide systemic advocacy, stakeholder engagement and support both customers and employees in their practice of guardianship.
The Stakeholder Engagement team is responsible for providing direct information and support to represented people and their families, private and enduring guardians, and the broader community. The team designs, delivers and evaluates information provision, education and consultation programs targeted to a range of stakeholders. Team members are also responsible for developing and maintaining collaborative networks across NSW Trustee & Guardian divisions, State and Commonwealth Government and other peak bodies to support the effective advocacy and delivery of customer services. Team members hold high-level communication skills, allowing them to manage and respond effectively to sensitive, contentious and complex issues, including complaints.
