The Service

Early Years @ Phoenix Park (EYPP) is a 119-place community managed Early Learning Hub that was established in 2011. We are currently seeking an experienced Centre Manager to lead our team in the highest delivery of education and care across both Long Day Care and Sessional Kindergarten.

EYPP has a vision for a strong and cohesive community in which children are central and, families are supported. We not only aim to maximise child and family wellbeing, but to also build and strengthen community connectedness.

Smaller group sizes provide children the opportunity to develop connected and meaningful relationships, and support EYPP’s commitment to high quality educational programs for children.

EYPP is dedicated to supporting children in becoming equitable and inclusive citizens. Our focus on connecting with the local community and its rich Indigenous history, as well as recognising and sharing skills, supports EYPP to build a community of learners.

EYPP is an inclusive community, actively engaging the families of our children to participate in our management committee, working bees and fundraising activities. We also encourage family and community involvement in our daily programs as we recognise the important role families play in their children’s education.

The Role

We are seeking a Manager in a full-time capacity who will lead the philosophy and strategic direction of the service, and commit to mentoring and supporting the team to provide high quality educational programs for our children.

The Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the service and will need to work closely with the team, sub-committees and Committee of Management to ensure the best outcomes for children, families and the community.

Key Priorities

  • Drive EYPP’s philosophy and strategic plan, with an emphasis on delivering exceptional early education and care
  • Work closely and effectively with EYPP’s Committee of Management to ensure the best outcomes for children and families
  • Maintain and grow EYPP’s current service delivery offerings
  • Oversee the day to day business operations of EYPP in line with legislative requirements and EYPP’s policies and procedures;
  • Provide leadership and guide the team of educators to plan and deliver exceptional educational programs with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation;
  • Develop and maintain community connections;
  • Maintain a harmonious and effective relationship with families, team members, children and the local community.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated experience managing an early childhood education service through assessment and rating at exceeding level
  • Exceptional leadership and management skills including the ability to inspire, motivate and maintain a positive team culture
  • Highly developed time management skills, including the development of systems and schedules to increase efficiency
  • Knowledge of Hubworks (preferred)
  • Advanced IT skills
  • Solid track record of building positive relationships with families and community engagement
  • Demonstrated leadership of innovative projects, extension or improvement to service delivery
  • Current Working with Children Check

Essential

  • Diploma of Children’s services (minimum)
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Current Police Check

Remuneration

The successful candidate will be remunerated in line with their qualifications and experience in an individual contract that greatly exceeds the award.
