Summary

The Technology Development Engineer is an essential element in The Alliance between FREO2 Foundation and EWB Australia that aims to ensure that every health facility that cares for in patients has access to oxygen.

The technologies this role will engage in covers a range of engineering fields including: mechanical; pneumatics; mechatronics and electrical.

This role will play an essential part in supporting the development of a range of technologies. It will engage in all aspects of EWB Australia’s approach to technology development; from the conception of ideas; to delivering detailed designs; to engaging in implementation processes.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Coordination of projects and key stakeholders as they move through EWB’s product development process
  • Leading the development and compilation of project documentation
  • Supporting CAD and technical design work on a range of products
  • Support the rapid development and testing of concepts and prototypes linked to emerging technologies

Selection Criteria

You will have demonstrated success in and/or proven knowledge in:

  • Working in low resource settings and the role technology has to play in supporting sustainable development
  • Designing and developing products and technology
  • Partnership management and co-creating value with diverse stakeholders
  • Coordinating multi-disciplinary projects
  • Advanced CAD work, including surface modelling and design for manufacture
  • Traditional and novel manufacturing processes and associated design considerations
  • Documentation and knowledge management

This role will require you to:

  • Be confident working in a highly collaborative and fast-paced environments
  • Proactively engage with a wide range of stakeholders and appropriately identify and respond to opportunities and challenges presented
  • Work passionately towards reducing inequities in health
  • Potentially travel interstate and overseas depending on the situation with COVID-19
