The Indigenous Consumer Assistance Network Ltd (ICAN) is a not-for-profit organisation based in Cairns, North Queensland. ICAN provides consumer education, advocacy and financial counselling assistance services for all Indigenous Australians. Our vision is 'Empowering Indigenous Consumers.'
Based in our Cairns office, ICAN Financial Counselling Support Officer will develop their skills in financial counselling to assist people experiencing financial difficulty. While completing the Diploma of Financial Counselling you will gain on-job training within an experienced and supportive team environment. You will use your experience and growing knowledge to deliver financial counselling and capability services.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will be willing to undertake and enrol in the Diploma of Financial Counselling, which is fully funded by the organisation. You will have a passion and determination for working with marginalised communities to empower them in achieving financial wellbeing.
We offer above Award rates working 36.25 hours per week, full-time equivalent and five weeks annual leave with ongoing development and salary packaging.
