Voluntary Board Sub-Committee Member

The Environment Victoria Board is seeking expressions of interest from passionate individuals with relevant skills for co-option to the Finance, Audit and Public Fund committee.

As with all Environment Victoria board and committee roles, this is a voluntary position.

Expectations of committee members:

  • Attend and actively participate in committee meetings via Zoom, currently 7 per year
  • Stay informed on relevant matters related to the committee and Environment Victoria’s work more broadly
  • Read and engage with relevant papers in advance of the meetings
  • Take on any relevant tasks, as agreed at committee meeting
  • Develop a collegial working relationship with other committee members that contributes to a positive working culture and consensual approach to decisions
  • Utilise own skills, experience and knowledge to support the growth and success of the organisation

Time Commitment: approximately 4 hours per month.

Skills and experience sought:

  • Degree qualified in accounting or finance and 10+ years experience in a senior financial management position
  • Experience developing and evaluating business cases
  • Decision-making responsibility for projects or organisation units with $1m + budgets
  • Knowledge and experience in managing an investment portfolio
  • Ability to analyse key financial statements; critically assess financial viability and performance; contribute to strategic financial planning, oversee budgets and the efficient use of resources.

Selection will be made following an informal interview.
