About You

With a demonstrated high-level understanding of relevant quality and safeguarding frameworks (particularly NDIS) you will be passionate about seeing people achieve their full potential. This will be matched by the following:

  • Knowledge and experience in areas such as dual disability, forensic, mental health, autism, intellectual disabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to complete functional behaviour assessments, risk assessments as well as the development and evaluation of behaviour support plans
  • The ability to communicate, influence, negotiate and facilitate discussions (including coaching, supervision, mentoring and training others)
  • An approach of flexibility, patience, initiative and emotional intelligence
  • Resilience and the ability to juggling multiple priorities
  • Post-graduate qualifications in a relevant field such as Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Social Work or other health related fields

About the Role

As a Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will be responsible for developing our capability to respond to people experiencing high complexity around their situation and/or supports as well as significant behaviours of concern. Your work will align to and maintain the standards articulated in the NDIS Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework. In detail, you will:

  • Bring people together to lead and embed a degree of governance rigour to our work
  • Conduct functional assessments
  • Evaluate and develop behaviour support plans
  • Coach and lead teams through reflective discussions, risk meetings and practice reviews
  • Provide supervision to less experienced practitioners and/or team leaders
  • Capture all working hours for the purposes of NDIS billing ensuring at least 60% of hours are billable
