The Edmund Rice Centre WA has a proud history and an ongoing commitment to assisting people from refugee and migrant backgrounds, as well as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Established in 1998 to provide essential settlement services and community education activities in the northern suburbs of Perth, the Centre services have expanded widely throughout the metropolitan area with a particular emphasis on young people and youth leadership as a way of ensuring a positive future for all. The Edmund Rice Centre WA is recognised as one of Australia’s leading service providers by community groups, government and other agencies in the field.

ABOUT THE ROLE

ERCWA Youth Programs aim to provide an environment which will encourage diverse and “at risk” children and youth to participate in after-school and weekend sport, art and leadership activities. As a member of a multidisciplinary team, the Youth Outreach Worker will provide engagement and development opportunities for youth who are disengaged, ranging from crisis intervention through to ongoing support to develop on their life journey. Youth Outreach Workers are required to work independently across a range of life areas with support from the team and supervisor.

  • National Police clearance
  • Working with Children Check
  • A Degree, Diploma, Certificate or approved equivalent qualifications
  • Suitable qualifications Youth Work, Social Work, Community Services or other health related qualifications (i.e. Social Work, Youth Work, Family Studies, etc.) and/or relevant experience in the field
  • A current and comprehensive resume including 2 references.
