Edmund Rice Community & Refugee Services (ERCRS) – St Albans is seeking an energetic, experienced, and enthusiastic Program Coordinator willing to make a meaningful contribution to the lives of young people experiencing disadvantage. You will be part of an energetic team that places the highest priority on the people we work with.

ERCRS is a not-for-profit organisation providing free learning support and a range of recreational opportunities to students of a disadvantaged or refugee background, in the western suburbs of Melbourne.

The Program Coordinator role is a part-time position, 30 hours per week 9.30 am – 5.30 pm Monday to Thursday to organise, deliver and manage various learning support program, including Homework Club for children and families of Debney Meadows Primary School. The person will also liaise between the Department of Education and Training, school and ERCRS. Additionally, the Program Coordinator will be required to assist with general admin duties such as processing and filing, writing news articles, and other office duties.

The successful applicant will have experience in program services coordination in education, community development or youth work context, hold a community service, education, youth work tertiary qualification or other relevant fields, have strong written and spoken English skills, be capable of organising and delivering educational programs for young people, and work comfortably as a member of a team in a collaborative environment.

The position is a fixed contract for 12 months ending 30th June 2021 with the possibility of extension. Remuneration will be commensurate with experience and qualifications, and in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care, and Disability Service Industry Award. The successful applicant will require a current Victoria Working with Children’s Check and a Police Check and must have current Australian permanent residency and/or Australian citizenship.
