We harness our legal and campaigning expertise to support and promote efforts across Australia to achieve positive legal, policy and social change, ensuring that the voices of LGBTIQ+ people are heard on the issues that affect us.

THE ROLE

As the Campaigns Assistant, you will work closely with the team to build our online and offline supporter base. You’ll work on tasks including, but not limited to:

  • Supporting the Engagement Advisor in the execution of communications strategies, and respond to developing issues of importance to the LGBTIQ+ community
  • Create engaging visual content
  • Work with a variety of stakeholders to support our campaign objectives
  • Providing input into policy and advocacy direction so that communications are strategic, coordinated and impactful
  • Assist in the creation of messaging to move key supporter audiences on critical issues

ABOUT YOU

You’re diligent, results-oriented and show strong initiative, ensuring tasks are followed through to the end and you’re be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. You show strong professional judgement, are comfortable with high expectations, and accountability for your performance.

You’re a highly motivated person who has had experience with responsive, community campaigns. You’re comfortable writing engaging copy and creating visual content.

You’re diligent, organised, results-oriented and show strong initiative. You’ve demonstrated strong professional judgement, and ensure tasks are followed through to the end.

You’re comfortable with high expectations, accountability for your performance, and comfortable doing a range of different tasks in a strongly supportive and passionate small team environment.

OTHER

We are open to full-time applications if you’re able to demonstrate that you meet some of the criteria of another part-time role we are advertising. The preferred candidate will be appointed at a level that is commensurate with their experience and breadth of skills. Salary is $65,000 - $77,000 (pro rata inc. superannuation).

This position may be based in either Sydney or Melbourne with some travel to other states likely required at times. There is potential for the position to be based remotely in another state.
