What can I expect in a typical day working as a Support Worker?

We support our customers in their homes, into the community and support further learning in our Learning and Lifestyle Centres. You will be providing our customers the opportunity to live their best lives and fulfil their goals and dreams. In our Learning and Lifestyle Centres you will engage our customers in interactive programs tailored to meet their needs and goals. You will also provide community access to our customers supporting them to appointments and activities.  

Role specifics: 

  • Gladstone location supporting customers across both Community Access and in our Learning and Lifestyle Centre
  • Permanent part time roles (40hrs/fortnight 25 hours/fortnight)
  • Further hours on offer
  • Supporting customers in our Learning and Lifestyle Centre and into the Community

What are the requirements to become a Support Worker?

  • Current National Criminal History check
  • Hold or be willing to obtain a positive notice from Disability Services (Yellow Card) and Working with Children Check (Blue card)
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificate
  • Experience working with people with a disability
  • Open Licence with comprehensive insurance coverage
  • Ability to transport customers in wheelchairs into the community
  • Cert 3 in disability ideal
  • Flexible where required to work awake night shifts, weekends, sleepovers
  • Passionate about making a difference!
