About the Team
The Counselling and Families Team delivers counselling and family support services funded by the Queensland and Australian Governments.
Our Family Support and Young Parents programs are designed to create positive, lasting change for children and families—strengthening relationships, supporting parenting capability, and improving child development outcomes across Brisbane North and Moreton Bay.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and values-driven Families Coordinator to lead our Families Team.
This 0.9 FTE role, based across Lawnton and Kedron, is responsible for:
- Leading, mentoring and supervising a multidisciplinary team of 7
- Managing day-to-day service delivery operations
- Coordinating Families programs in line with funding requirements and KPIs
- Supporting high-quality therapeutic interventions for individuals, couples and families
- Developing and implementing operational plans aligned with Encircle’s Strategic Plan
- Ensuring compliance with organisational policies and driving continuous improvement
You will work closely with the Counselling and Families Manager to deliver high-quality, responsive and community-focused services.
About You

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across diverse audiences
Qualifications & Experience
- Relevant tertiary qualification (essential)
- Postgraduate qualifications (highly regarded)
- Eligibility for relevant professional membership
- Minimum 5 years clinical experience
- Minimum 2 years leadership experience
Key Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated understanding of social justice principles
- Proven ability to lead and supervise a diverse professional team
- Strong experience managing client records, data collection and report writing
- Understanding of the needs of diverse communities, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, CALD and LGBTIQA+ communities
- Ability to apply a range of therapeutic interventions within a strengths-based framework
- Experience working with vulnerable individuals and families using a community development approach
