Established in 1993, North and West Remote Health (NWRH) delivers community and outreach based allied health, aged care, wellbeing and disability services. We have a large and diverse team of healthcare professionals to service the needs of communities in regional, rural and remote Australia.

About the Role

NWRH now has multiple vacancies for suitable applicants to join our team of Wellbeing Clinicians on a full-time or part time basis in Mornington Island, Doomadgee, Normanton, Croydon, Etheridge or Georgetown.

As a Wellbeing Clinician, your primary responsibility will be to provide direct client support to adults, youth, children and families, liaise with community to plan, deliver and evaluate program specific wellbeing services and community education activities, in accordance with organisational and program funding guidelines. This will be achieved by:

  • Assessing clients' needs and developing and implementing social and emotional wellbeing plans for a range of clients possibly including people experiencing drug and alcohol issues, families requiring support, children and youth, people with disabilities and more;
  • Talking with clients to assess how we can support them, including referring to agencies that can provide additional help;
  • Reporting on the progress of clients and maintaining accurate and timely health records and statistics;
  • Facilitating the development and delivery of a Wellbeing support program in communities, ensuring the program is complimentary to other initiatives;
  • Continually seeking out opportunities for youth and adults to connect to their wellbeing in innovative and culturally appropriate ways;
  • Working with the broader community to build local capacities in identifying, developing, implementing and evaluating community-based initiatives to support wellbeing
