North and West Remote Health (NWRH) are currently seeking a Team Leader to join their Mental Health Nurse team in Townsville on a full-time basis.

Reporting to the Integrated Mental Health Manager, as a Team Leader your primary responsibilities will include:

• Recruitment and retention of suitably qualified staff;
• Ensuring that the mental health nursing program is delivered in line with funding agreements and achieving contractual KPI’s;
• Supervision and monitoring of a team of staff working in both rural and very remote areas;
• Management of data/documentation and reporting; and
• Workplace health and safety matters

This is an exciting career opportunity for an experienced Team Leader with a background in Healthcare wanting to expand their Leadership career!

As the Team Leader you’ll be overseeing the delivery of community-based and outreach mental health nursing services to individuals experiencing severe and complex mental health disorders.

Your extensive background as a Leader will enable you to collaborate effectively with primary health providers, mental health nurses and other stakeholders to ensure the effective delivery of services.

You will be leading a team of approx. 8-10 staff, you'll also be required to have a minimum of 2 years leadership experience managing a healthcare program.

As a Team Leader you will demonstrate high-level written and verbal communication skills, have an awareness of Indigenous health issues and the ability to work in a culturally sensitive manner with people of diverse cultural backgrounds. Although not essential, any experience gained in a remote/rural area and working with Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people will be highly regarded.
