Who We Are

We are EREA Geraldton Flexible Learning Centre, a CARE school in WA and part of the EREA Oscar Romero Flexi Schools Network. We provide diverse learning and wellbeing experiences and aim to re-engage young people who are looking to access a different way of learning. Fundamental to our operation are the principles of Respect Participation, Honesty and Safe & Legal. Staff and young people come together on ‘Common Ground’ where everyone has a voice in making decisions and establishing working agreements to foster a positive environment where young people can achieve positive educational and wellbeing outcomes.

About the Opportunity

We’re looking for qualified Teachers who are primary or secondary trained to join our team in a full-time capacity. Reporting to the Head of Campus and the Network Principal, you will be responsible for implementing teaching strategies that cater to the needs of secondary-aged students who have disengaged from mainstream education. Students may have language, literacy and numeracy difficulties, and teachers must respond creatively and empathetically to student needs.

This role requires a dedicated, enthusiastic professional who has experience working with disenfranchised young people. The role will vary day-to-day to reflect the diverse needs of the young people we support. Our school has a strong focus on personalised and individual education plans for each young person and promotes a caring, radically inclusive, and supportive environment for all.

Specialist areas such as adventure-based learning, project-based learning, and special education/learning support will be highly regarded, though not essential.

About the Benefits

To be successful the ideal candidate will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in teaching and be eligible for registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia
  • Experience in a diverse primary or secondary educational environment
  • Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people
  • Eligibility for a Working with Children Clearance
  • A current unrestricted Driver’s Licence.

There is an attractive salary on offer of $77,000 – $107,000 per annum (commensurate with skills & experience) PLUS salary sacrificing options!
