About Cairns Community Legal Centre

The Cairns Community Legal Centre (CCLC) is a non-profit, government-funded community organisation, committed to providing accessible legal and social justice services for people in the community experiencing disadvantage.

The Centre extends its services across a range of areas of law including guardianship, domestic violence, peace and good behaviour matters, consumer law, credit, debt, motor vehicle property damage, discrimination, human rights, family law, child protection, and criminal and traffic matters.

This work is provided for a diverse range of clients including people with disabilities, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, those experiencing domestic or family violence, financial difficulties and homelessness.

Is it right for you?

The Cairns Community Legal Centre is currently seeking Expressions of Interest from Solicitors who are interested in being considered for employment opportunities that may arise in the future within the Centre.

As a Solicitor with CCLC you will be providing a range of legal and social justice services for individuals experiencing disadvantage and living in and around the Cairns community.

To be eligible to work as a Solicitor at the Centre, you must hold a Bachelor of Laws Degree and have (or be eligible for) admission as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland with a current practising certificate.

Candidates with all levels of experience are encouraged to express their interest – a desire to make a difference and a passion for helping those in need is however a must.

Working at CCLC is a rewarding experience, where you will directly see each day, the positive impact the work you are doing is having on the local community.
