Sunrise Health Service Aboriginal Corporation is now seeking two General Practitioners to join their dedicated team in the Katherine Region of the Northern Territory.

Katherine is paradise, and the landscape is just like Kakadu but 38% of our Aboriginal people have one or more chronic diseases.

As a registered GP, your role will primarily be developing chronic care management, as well as supporting preventative health checks to reduce chronic disease in the region.

Sunrise Health is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service that is well supported by specialist medical and allied health services. As a registered GP you already have the necessary skills to perform this role as acute care is undertaken by our highly trained nursing teams and through the District Medical Officer.

These roles are being offered on a permanent full-time basis, however shared job arrangements (such as 2 months on, 2 months off) would be considered. We also require a GP from early May to early September each year.

You get to make a huge difference in our communities, while being are on the doorstep of an adventure/outdoors paradise with the best barramundi fishing in the territory and yes - lots of buffs! - parts of Crocodile Dundee were filmed here.

You will be based in Katherine (home of the Katherine Gorge and 3 hours’ drive from Darwin) and travelling to remote communities via air and road.
