This leading organisation provides support to families experiencing Domestic Family Violence through refuge and culturally appropriate support programs tailored to the needs of the individuals and families. With a clear strategic plan, they continue to expand their services to meet the growing needs of the community including all forms of gender based violence.

The Practice and Prevention Development Manager position is a critical role to the business responsible for the implementation and integration of best practice service modelling and the development and application of the prevention and intervention strategy. This position aims to build specialist capacity, service model and a learning culture within the organisation that integrates critical reflection with evidence-based practice.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the agency through the development of an integrated service model, underpinned by a philosophical approach and therapeutic framework
  • Lead the successful planning, implementation and scale-up of a range of integrated activities around prevention, intervention and postvention
  • Responsible for implementing the Trauma-Informed Care Practice
  • Contribute to practice development priorities in consultation with members and other key stakeholders
  • Contribute to the development of social enterprise models
  • Deliver consultation and focus groups with internal stakeholders, including Managers, Clinical Supervisors and Practitioners regarding the proposed DFV practice framework
  • Align practices, systems and processes to encourage improved performance and outcomes
  • Development of client advocacy reference group
  • Build collaborative relationships with member organisations and other key stakeholders which support the identification and incorporation of good practice in relation to working with DFV
  • Remain abreast of contemporary best practice frameworks with regard to DFV clinical practice and clinical supervision

This is a pivotal role within the agency and to be successful in the role you must enjoy being part of a dynamic, agile and fast paced organisation and have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work or other relevant disciplines
  • Experience researching and developing practice frameworks and practice guidelines
  • Understanding of Project Management principles and application of relevant tools
  • Evidence based knowledge on DFV practice, including DFV prevention and intervention services and their effectiveness
  • Knowledge of best practice in DFV and risk assessment and management
  • Ability to build effective partnerships whilst leading and enabling change
