Reporting to the CEO, the Entrepreneurship Business Partner is responsible for leading and overseeing the implementation of ELP’s incubation program to empower community entrepreneurs with the necessary skills, connections and confidence to achieve their goals in enterprise.
Key responsibilities include contributing to the incubation program design, building and assessing a pipeline of enterprises for support, developing materials to facilitate the learning experience of community entrepreneurs, engaging with a range of community stakeholders to ensure the enterprise is well supported, and managing the overall experience of enterprises as they partner with us. You are encouraged and expected to develop innovative approaches to this business incubation support that will enable community enterprises to achieve their long-term impact and business goals.
This role will entail significant travel to remote communities, with the flexibility to engage additional contractors and facilitators to provide on-ground support who you will oversee.
You will have experience working with community-level organisations, Aboriginal communities and preferably with small enterprises. You are resilient and self-sufficient and are comfortable working in a remote setting with minimal guidance or support. You are a natural mentor. You are most at home when working in partnership with others and you thrive on seeing people succeed and overcome their fears.

Enterprise Learning Projects is an Indigenous-controlled not-for-profit organisation that has been supporting the ideation, development and growth of businesses by partnering with remote Aboriginal communities for over ten years.
Coming from grassroots micro-enterprise development, we have the experience and understanding to be able identify businesses with potential, we understand the environmental and market factors that lead to success, and we acknowledge the challenges and barriers for remote enterprises and seek to work with communities to overcome these by being creative and adaptive.
We consider ourselves as invested partners, supporting businesses that empower remote communities. We do this by bringing a holistic business support approach to incubation. Rather than operating a ‘program’ for businesses to attend, we build our in-house capabilities to respond to the various needs of remote community businesses.
We identify businesses with potential for growth, and provide long-term support. Our support includes the direct strategic, operational and decision-making input of our in-house team, as well as connections to other incubators, funders, mentors and enablers in our network to give that business the best chance at success. We recognise that to be successful these businesses need community capability and understanding, strong supply chain partners that build resilience, and clear customer knowledge and access to markets that can sustain them.
