ABOUT US

Elizabeth Morgan House Aboriginal Women’s Service Inc. (EMHAWS) is the peak body for Aboriginal Women and children located in Melbourne. based in Melbourne. We are proudly an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation which deliver specialist family violence and homelessness services and have been in operation since 1976. A key aim of EMHAWS is to provide advocacy and support for the empowerment of Aboriginal women, children, young people and the wider community. EMHAWS takes direction and works consultatively with the community in all aspects of our services.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a new role in a growing organisation with the opportunity to develop new systems and processes that will lead further growth. As well as providing administrative HR support, the role includes strategic HR and workforce planning activities including setting and implementing a 5 year strategy for the organisation and the people function.

The HR Manager will be responsible for:

ABOUT YOU

You will be a female experienced, or demonstratable ability, in managing the HR functions of an organisation. As an ideal candidate you will have a formal qualification in Human Resource Management or previous Human Resource Administration experience; excellent time management skills and ability to manage multiple projects priorities and tasks; and the ability to think innovative problem solving skills.

If you do not hold formal qualifications but can demonstrate and satisfy that you hold strong capabilities to fulfil this role, we would expect that the successful candidate would be committed to completing professional development and training as required to obtain a formal qualification.

Other applicant requirements include:

  • Expertise or ability in developing and maintaining HR systems and processes.
  • Ability to work independently and provide an objective oversight of HR matters across the organisation and contribute to a high performing executive team.
