Our aim is to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of primary health care services for patients particularly those at risk of poor health outcomes; and improve coordination of care.

About the Role:

The Clinical Lead manages a small team of administrative staff and mental health clinicians who are responsible for the intake and triage of referrals to the Psychological Support Services (PSS) and Primary Integrated Care Services (PICS) programmes commissioned by CESPHN. The Clinic Lead is responsible for ensuring clinical processes and procedures are well established and followed by the CESPHN Mental Health Intake and Triage team, conducts triage of complex cases, develops guidance documents, and provides clinical guidance and oversight to the team. The Clinical Lead works closely and collaboratively with other members of the clinical services team as well as key stakeholders in the community including General Practitioners and providers from across the CESPHN region. The Clinical Lead plays a key role in promoting a person centred, recovery-oriented approach in leading timely and effective initial assessment and referral tailored to regional and community needs.

Essential

  • Tertiary qualifications and experience in a mental health clinical field and relevant management experience in mental health
  • Demonstrated experience in mental health intake and triage including experience in engaging and communicating with referrers (GPs, allied health providers and community workers) and consumers
  • Experience in influencing and managing change
  • Proven involvement in strategic project coordination as well as leadership, performance management and professional development experience
  • Demonstrated ability to establish confident relationships and partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders including the Local Health Districts, non-government organisations, community organisations, universities, clinicians and the public
  • Understanding of the needs of under-serviced and hard to reach communities in the CESPHN region, in particular Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
  • Proven high level written, verbal and electronic communication skills, with an ability to successfully manage communications across the organisation
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office based computing applications and Client Information Management Systems e.g. Excel, Word, Database, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook etc

Desirable

  • Ability and willingness to facilitate educational workshops and develop quality education/promotional resources
  • Data analysis skills to be able to collate data about service provision and evaluation of intake processes
  • Access to a motor vehicle and possession of a current NSW drivers’ licence
