Eastern Domestic Violence Services (EDVOS) is a not-for-profit specialist family violence service in Melbourne’s Eastern Metropolitan Region (EMR). We provide an integrated range of support and services to empower women and children who are responding to family violence. We operate within a human rights framework and our focus is on supporting the safety of women and children and the accountability of perpetrators.
About the Opportunity
This position will be responsible for specifically providing risk assessment and safety planning to older women experiencing family violence. This position will provide support to older women in their designated geographical area (Inner East or Outer East) but will from time to time be required to provide support to work with older women across both the Inner and Outer East regions.
Essential to your success
- A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Welfare or a related discipline
- Demonstrated understanding of the complexities older people experience in relation to family violence
- An understanding of relevant theories and practice frameworks that relate to Family Violence, including knowledge of Trauma Informed Practice
- Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of the many facets of family violence including the gendered nature of family violence and use of power and control
- Demonstrated experience and skills in, intake and assessment, case planning in relation to family violence, service provision, safety planning, managing a caseload and client advocacy
- Capacity to provide a high quality family violence service inclusive of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Women, children, older women, CALD clients, women with a disability and women who identify as LGBTIQ clients
- A current Drivers Licence is required

Salary for this position will be aligned with SCHADS Level 5 + 9.5% super.
