Eating Disorders Victoria (EDV) was established in 1983, and is now the leading organisation of its kind in the state. We help ensure that all Victorians impacted by an eating disorders can access the information, support and services that they for recovery.
EDV is unique in that approximately 60% of its workforce, comprising almost 40 staff plus volunteers, has lived experience of an eating disorder. The team provides a range of critical services to support the 1 in 20 Victorians that are currently experiencing an eating disorder and their loved ones.
We are looking for two new board members to prepare for the challenges ahead. You will have skills and experience in one of two areas:
The EDV Board comprises up to 9 members with substantial skills and expertise, drawn from the corporate, private, public, health and community sectors. The Board members work in a voluntary capacity to provide strategic oversight and governance in line with EDV’s mission.
Board members are expected to attend all board meetings, join a subcommittee, and support the strategic plan of the organisation. The time commitment will be approximately 8 hours per month.
All board members are required to be paid members of EDV.
You will be joining a professional, experienced board but you do not need prior board experience. You will, however, have an interest in addressing mental health issues and eating disorders, preferably via your own lived experience. We strive to have a diverse board and encourage people from all backgrounds to apply.
