For 45 years, Eastern Community Legal Centre (ECLC) has been working with communities across the eastern suburbs of Melbourne to resolve legal problems, advocate for people’s rights, improve the legal justice system, and alleviate socio-economic disadvantage.

ECLC offers free legal and other services to priority communities through a skilled multidisciplinary workforce of staff and volunteers which include advocates, community lawyers, financial counsellors, intake specialists, paralegals, social workers and program, management and policy professionals.
ECLC works with communities and community members living in Boroondara, Knox, Manningham, Maroondah, Whitehorse, and Yarra Ranges.
ECLC helps priority people and communities that would otherwise not have access to a lawyer, whilst prioritising services and targeting programs to those who experience acute disadvantage.
As a key member of ECLC’s SAGE program, the Intake and Administration Officer (SAGE) will work as part of an integrated team including a community lawyer, family violence advocate, financial counsellor and other professionals to assist in improving access to justice and support services for women who have experienced family violence.
The role of the Intake and Administration Officer (SAGE) provides: program administration (including data reporting); administrative support to the SAGE team; and, provides accessible, efficient and effective intake services to those seeking assistance through SAGE including: information provision; initial legal needs identification; and risk assessment.
You will hold a relevant qualifications in community services, youth work or similar and experience in administration and client services within the community legal sector.
You will also have demonstrated experience working with vulnerable client groups and those with complex needs. You will be a compassionate person who respects people, their circumstances and decisions.
