Eastern Community Legal Centre (ECLC) has been working with individuals and communities for over 40 years to resolve legal problems and improve legal responses. ECLC makes legal assistance available to those in the community who would not otherwise have access to a lawyer, whilst prioritising services and programs to people and communities experiencing disadvantage.
As a key member of ECLC’s SAGE program, the Family Violence Financial Counsellor will work as part of an integrated team including a community lawyer, family violence advocate and other professionals to assist in improving access to justice and support services for women who have experienced family violence. The Family Violence Financial Counsellor – SAGE will ideally have considerable experience with complex casework, advocacy and negotiation. They will also ideally have an interest for the development of the role within an integrated practice program, informing program policy and processes.
You will hold a Diploma of Financial Counselling or Diploma of Community Services (Financial Counselling) and a current membership of Financial and Consumer Rights Council.
You will also have demonstrated experience working with or within a multi-disciplinary environment, particularly in family violence. You will be a compassionate person who respects people, their circumstances and decisions.
