Eastern Community Legal Centre (ECLC) is a multidisciplinary legal service that works to prevent problems, progress fair outcomes and support the wellbeing and resilience of communities and community members in Melbourne’s East.
As a key member of ECLC’s Legal Team, the Community Lawyer (Yarra Ranges) will provide high quality legal services within a community practice with a particular focus on family law, family violence and generalist law. This role includes co-ordination of the Infringements Clinic (two days per week) and involvement in the community development and education work of ECLC.
This position provides the opportunity to add significant value to the legal practice and community through positive engagement with clients, staff, volunteers and other agencies.
You will be eligible to hold an Employee Practicing Certificate in Victoria, and have demonstrated post-admission experience in a broad range of areas including family law, family violence and in providing generalist legal advice. You will be a compassionate person who respects people, their circumstances and decisions. You will be able to effectively manage tasks and deadlines while maintaining a high degree of self-awareness, resilience and professionalism.
