Eastern Community Legal Centre (ECLC) is a multidisciplinary legal service that works to prevent problems, progress fair outcomes and support the wellbeing and resilience of communities and community members in Melbourne’s East.
The HEAL team integrates a Community Lawyer and a Client Advocate within key partner agency locations, providing a service that responds to clients presenting with complex needs and experiencing systemic barriers to accessing services, particularly :
As a key member of ECLC’s HEAL team, the Community Lawyer – HEAL will work closely with the Client Advocate - HEAL to provide advocacy, legal advice and legal/case support interventions to clients presenting with complex needs and experiencing systemic barriers to accessing services.
You will be eligible to hold an unrestricted Employee Practicing Certificate in Victoria, and have demonstrated post-admission experience in a broad range of areas including civil law, criminal law and in providing generalist legal advice. You will be a compassionate person who respects people, their circumstances and decisions. You will be able to effectively manage tasks and deadlines while maintaining a high degree of self-awareness, resilience and professionalism.
