About the Project

The National Community Connector Program has been developed to outreach Culturally And Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities and CALD people with disabilities and their carers to better understand the NDIS and successfully engage with NDIS service providers to receive higher quality plans through enhanced understanding of the processes of the NDIS.

ECSC has a long history of outreaching and supporting Culturally And Linguistically Diverse (CALD) people with a disability to protect their rights, achieve their goals and participate in all aspects of community life.

About You

We are looking for people who are experienced and passionate about:

  • Working with and engaging culturally diverse communities and people with a disability who face many challenges in accessing services
  • Making choice and control a reality for all people with disability

You will also be self-motivated, flexible and organised.

Ethnic Community Service Co-operative (ECSC) provides a range of services to achieve its overall goal in making social inclusion a reality for all members of our culturally diverse society including, people with disability and their carers, children, families and older people.

In particular, ECSC has more than 40 years’ experience working with people with disability from CALD backgrounds, including developing the state’s first Information and Advocacy program for people with disability from CALD backgrounds; developing an innovative model for CALD people with a disability services; creating a bilingual pool of workers to support children with disabilities in children’s services; outreaching disengaged communities to provide education and information about the rights of people with disability; building the capacity of mainstream organisations to provide culturally responsive services; and advocating at all levels of government to ensure that policies and programs are accessible and inclusive of all people with disability.

SALARY:

Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award - Level plus and employer superannuation contributions of 9.5%. Salary packaging is available.
